Veterinarians
Casey Kurtz, VMD
I can’t imagine being anything but a veterinarian, and am so proud to be part of this profession! Initially, I worked as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), but it wasn’t until I participated in a class on animal first aid, that my true calling was revealed. I loved it and I loved the fact that I was helping to ease the suffering of animals that couldn’t speak for themselves and were scared and suffering.
After graduating from University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2008, I started working at Country Companion Animal Hospital. It was my first, last and only job! I knew I had found my home.
Every day I look forward to coming into work and connecting with not only my animal patients, but also their human counterparts. Pets are amazing and the things they do always amuse and surprise me. Over the years, I found that surgery truly interests me and I have started to perform TPLO surgery to repair cruciate ligaments, in addition to a variety of soft tissue procedures.
If my life wasn’t crazy enough, my husband and I decided to have children. Four short, chaotic years later, we have three daughters. They, however, have to share the limelight with our four-legged children: Regan, Phoenix. Luckily, our feline supervisors, Reilly and Eamon, keep us all in line.
Amanda Wanner, DVM
I was about nine years-old when I realized I wanted to be a veterinarian. This desire was further reinforced when I attended Twin Valley High School where I was able to participate in FFA (Future Farmers of America) and agricultural courses. When I turned fifteen, I took my first job at Country Companion Animal Hospital as a technician assistant. I worked there until I started my undergraduate studies at Penn State University.
After I received my veterinary degree at the University of Illinois in 2014, I was eager to return home. I was fortunate to be able to come back to CCAH as a full time Veterinarian in 2015. I am so happy to have come full circle and be back at CCAH for good!
I love CCAH and our staff family, some of whom I have known for over twenty years (please don’t do the math)! At Country Companion Animal Hospital, I get to pursue a little bit of all my passions in veterinary medicine including, Internal Medicine, Reproductive Medicine, Ultrasound, and most recently, Integrative Medicine including Acupuncture. It is so gratifying to be able to work with animals of all different personalities. One of the best parts of this job is watching the animals grow and to be a part of their medical care from their youth to their latter years.
My personal passions include superhero films and comics (mainly Batman), my crazy Corgis, and black cats. My free time is spent with my Star Wars loving husband, Shawn, my amazing son, Peter (I may be biased), my horse-obsessed mother, Eileen, the two corgis and one black cat. I cannot wait to welcome the newest addition to our family, a baby girl due in June 2024.
Caroline Roxon, DVM, DACT
I have always wanted to become a veterinarian for as long as I can remember. Originally, I planned to be travelling lameness vet with a concentration in horses in the southeast, but clearly things have changed! I grew up in Charleston, SC, enjoying time on the beautiful beaches and riding horses. Eventually, I attended Clemson University for Animal and Veterinary Sciences to start my journey to veterinary school.
After I graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018, I pursued higher education in reproduction by completing an internship at Kansas State University and a residency at the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center. As soon as I finished my residency, CCAH convinced me that the North wasn’t so bad and to make the switch to small animal reproduction instead of horses. Although I’m not sure that winter and snow is really my favorite, I thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere and variety of patients we get to work with on a daily basis.
In my free time, I am usually spending the hours on my husband’s family farm in Maryland with my own four-legged kids Miller and Buzz, the two best Labs around, and my horse, Tempest. If I am not working or escaping the Pennsylvania winter weather in South Carolina, I am most likely at Walt Disney World, running through Cinderella’s castle at runDisney events. My goal is to complete the Dopey challenge, 48.6 magical miles of running over 1 weekend, in 2026!
Corrine Walsh, DVM
I have wanted to be a veterinarian since I was a little girl. My parents like to say my interest in animals really took off when they took to a farm in preschool and I got licked by all the cows. From that day forward, I told everyone I met that I wanted to be a vet. I have vivid memories of my first toy doctor kit as a kid and wrapping my family dogs in toilet paper bandages. During college at the University of Delaware, I worked at the school’s dairy farm and volunteered as a puppy raiser for The Seeing Eye. I raised three future guide dogs before leaving for veterinary school.
During veterinary school I developed a strong interest in surgery and reproduction. After graduating from University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2022, I started working at Country Companion Animal Hospital. I had spent time here during school to learn more about reproduction and really connected with the staff here. They instantly felt like my family! I was so happy to be able to come back as a full time veterinarian.
My husband and I recently got married and live with our three dogs: Mabel, our Golden mix, and Beatrice and Karla, our two German Shepherds. We previously raised both Shepherds to be guide dogs, but they eventually made their way back to us. In my free time, I love to cook and I'm a voracious bookworm. You may also find us hiking with the dogs!
Carla Narducci, VMD
After successfully owning and operating CCAH until 2015, Dr. Narducci continues to practice on a part-time basis at CCAH. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1987, she began to pursue an interest in reproductive medicine. She then expanded into other services including freezing semen, semen storage, transcervical inseminations and fertility evaluations. She spends much of her time these days staying warm in Florida.
